Q: How long in advance do I have to place my order?
Please give us 1-2 weeks notice to source and prepare the ingredients. Last minute orders will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Q: How should I go about customising a cake and how much do you charge?
Kindly drop us an email at ourfirstbake@gmail.com with your requirements and we will get back to you. Customised cakes are usually priced $5-$25 more than our standard cakes of the same size, depending on cost of ingredients and complexity of design.
Q: How do I make payment?
100% payment is to be made via PayNow upon confirmation of order.

Q: Do you guys do fondant cakes?
Our First Bake does not make fondant cakes (they're too sugary) or 3D figurines. While these additions produce beautiful cakes, we prefer to make textured, natural and rustic-looking cakes that are yummy inside-out. And for that, flavoured cream are the best mediums for this.
Q: How long can your goodies be kept?
As our bakes are made without preservatives, they're best consumed within 3 days.
Q: How should I store your goodies?
Cream-based goodies should always be stored in the fridge until ready to eat and should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If a cake is unfinished, place a cling wrap over the exposed cake layers to prevent drying.
Our chiffon cakes, cookies and pies can be kept in an air-tight container at room temperature for 2 days. But we will recommend storing them in the fridge to prolong the shelf life and reheat (if applicable) before consumption.
Q: Are your bakes Halal?
We are not a halal-certified bakery, but no pork nor lard are used in our cakes (except the Pork Floss Mayo Swiss Roll).
Q: I'm diabetic/allergic to nuts/a vegan, can you bake something without xxx ingredient?
Sure thing! We're able to cater to people with health issues and specific diets, but please let us know early so that we can find the best substitutes for your cake without compromising on taste. However, please do not take the risk if you are highly sensitive to traces of allergens.
Q: Do you guys have a physical store?
No, we are a two-man team running a home-based business. But be rest assured that we maintain a high standard of food safety in our home; we're also armed with the Food and Hygiene Certificate from SFA.
Q: Do you do dessert tables?
We're able to provide the goodies for your dessert table, but we don't do the set-up nor provide the tableware (e.g. stands/props/skirting). Our bakes will be packed into cardboard boxes and we can assist in the display of the goodies upon arrival (should your tableware be already present).
